g2 reviews API documentation

We provide a simple to setup REST API that returns reviews in JSON format. Before integrating the API you should be aware of the following:

  • The g2 API returns 25 reviews per request.
  • The order in which reviews are returned is by descending date(from newest to oldest).
  • You can get all reviews from a single place by using the offset parameter.

To get reviews from Wextractor you will need to perform GET requests against the https://wextractor.com/api/v1/reviews/g2 endpoint.

Reviews endpoint parameters:

Parameter Required Description Example
auth_token Required Your API token for authentication. Once you register to Wextractor you can extract this key from your account's setting page. -
id Required A textual identifier that uniquely identifies a place in g2. This identifier can be taken from the url of the product in g2. For example, if the url for the place in g2 is https://www.g2.com/products/google-drive the identifier is google-drive google-drive
offset Optional This parameter defines the result offset. It skips the given number of reviews. It's used for pagination. (e.g., 0 (default) is the first page of results, 25 is the 2nd page of results, 50 is the 3rd page of results, etc.). 25

Example usage:

https://wextractor.com/api/v1/reviews/g2?id=google-drive&auth_token=XXXXX&offset=0

Based on my experience, however, I would recommend Google to provide at least 50% more space.\nWhat problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?\nI am storing some critically important files in google drive. I also use it to send some large files to my students.",

"text": "What do you like best?\nGoogle Drive offers a seamless way to save documents, spreadsheets, photos, videos, and other random files online for free. The software allows users to share files between friends and colleagues quickly and in a user friendly manner. This is a great option to safely and securely send files to colleagues that are in different states or countries instantly.\nWhat do you dislike?\nLimited storage for free account, but paid upgrades are available. Having multiple gmail accounts can prove troublesome when trying to access or view shared files. Keeping files organized can prove hard at times especially if shared between multiple users working on a project. There is no search history and finding specific files or documents can be troublesome at first.\nWhat problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?\nThe company I work for is located in Canada, while the employees are scattered across the globe. We needed a way to share files between employees in a secure and quick manner. Google Drive allows us to accomplish just that.",

"text": "What do you like best?\nI like Google Drive because it not only provides us with ample cloud storage capacity but also has integrations and features that facilitate file sharing and collaborative work in the same environment. It is very secure, its synchronization is fast and correct, plus it is easy to upload and download files hosted on the platform. My colleagues and I enjoy using this program to keep our files protected and collaborate with each other.\nWhat do you dislike?\nLike any great application, this one is not absolved of having drawbacks, among them is the file upload speed that could be faster and that access to shared files is only possible by logging in with a Gmail account, although the latter seems logical to me as it is a Google-powered product.\nRecommendations to others considering the product:\nIt is definitely a cloud-based benefit that I would not fail to recommend, it is perfect for all types of organization, stored files, documents, images, etc., are kept protected and without risk of information loss, plus it is easy to access them from any desktop and even mobile device.\nWhat problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?\nGoogle Drive has had a great performance and positive impact within our organization, it has provided us with a secure cloud platform where we can store all types of files without risk of data loss, give access to files to third parties and is also powerful for collaboration between colleagues. All our data is kept protected and each team can perform tasks together in the same environment to accomplish goals.",

Frequently asked questions:

  • How do I get all the reviews for a single place?
  • You need to perform multiple requests incrementing the offset until you get a response without any reviews in it.

  • Does the API have rate limits?
  • Yes, since g2 is pretty strict at blocking requests you will be rate limited if you perform more than one request per second.
